Panel session on Gender and Governance

Gender inequality impacts a range of economic outcomes and the quality of growth and development. Leading researchers, international organizations, and think tanks have delved into cross-country analysis to estimate the cost of gender discrimination on economic growth, income inequality, firm performance, export diversification, quality of governance, to name a few. This panel introduces and discusses the methodology and results of two recent publications on the "Gender and the Quality of Governance" and the "Cost of Violence Against Women", including findings related to Iran.
